Good bye Ron Lewis: It was recently announced that Ron Lewis had decided that he would not seek reelection for his position in Congress. Rep. Lewis has served Kentucky's 2nd District since the mid term election to replaced the late William Natcher. One of the things that Lewis had promised was term limits, not so much that he would push for them but that he would not run more than twice. He later changed his mind and said that he would continue.
The bothersome part of his leaving was the "why". He said that it was no longer fun since the Democrats had taken control of Congress. Had we known back in 1994 that he was only interested in representing us when it was fun or easy I think that many constituents might have thought twice about how sincere he was to do the job. Don't get me wrong - I like Ron Lewis and think that he did a great job while in Congress. But I want someone in there who isn't afraid of the current dominance of the Democrats and wants to be a part of changing that. I want to change that. I want to be a part of the strong group of leaders who changes America for the best! If we continue to elect people who quit when the going gets tough then we are doomed as a party and we are doomed as a nation.
